Senator GEORGES (Queensland) -We desire to take separately each motion for the first reading of the Bills, as they are money Bills. At the same time, the Opposition does not want to inhibit the Senate from taking the Bills together at the second reading stage. Therefore, I wish to move as an amendment to the motion for the suspension of Standing Orders:

After the words 'at each stage' insert 'except the first reading'.

Senator CARRICK(New South WalesMinister for National Development and Energy (4.50)- If the Opposition desires to use the first reading stage of these Bills for its own purposes, we accept that.
