Senator MacGIBBON (QUEENSLAND) - I direct my question to the Minister representing the Minister for Trade and Resources. It was announced in November 1979 that discussions would be held between the Minister for Trade and Resources and the New Zealand Government concerning cheese imports. In view of the concern expressed by the Australian Dairy Farmers Federation at the delays in obtaining a determination on the Industries Assistance Commission's report on cheese, I ask: Have the discussions taken place? If so, what was their outcome?

Senator SCOTT -Trade in cheese between New Zealand and Australia is still under close examination and discussion by the appropriate Ministers. I shall refer the honourable senator's question to the Minister for Trade and Resources for his response.
