Senator Walsh asked the Minister representing the Minister for Administrative Services, upon notice, on 27 March 1 980:

(   1 ) What are the designation, salary and duties of Mr Laurie Power, and what will his duties be if and when the position of Press Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the Senate is filled.

(2)   If Mr Power's responsibilities are to be reduced when the Leader of the Government in the Senate appoints a Press Secretary, will his salary be adjusted accordingly.

Senator Scott - The Minister for Administrative Services has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(   1 ) Mr Power has been appointed State Co-ordination Officer for New South Wales. His salary is in the range of 522,206-22,977 per annum plus Ministerial Staff Allowance of $5,040 per annum in lieu of overtime.
