Senator THOMAS - My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Post and Telecommunications. I have received many representations from farmers, fishermen and voluntary search and rescue organisations protesting at the high cost of two-way radio licences, particularly when compared with citizen band radio licences. The Minister for Post and Telecommunications has indicated that a review of the costs of licences is being undertaken. When will the results of this review be available?

Senator CHANEY - This is a matter on which there have been numerous representations from the honourable senator and others. As he has indicated in his question, Mr Staley has put the matter under review. I will ask Mr Staley when he expects to have the results of that review and let the honourable senator know.
