Senator DRAKE-BROCKMAN - Let me say at the outset that in the Senate I have answered some questions on the same matter 14 times. All I can say to Senator Webster is that there is an apple and pear stabilisation scheme and that it will have the same effect on the apple and pear growers in the Goulburn Valley as it will on growers throughout Australia. At a meeting in Melbourne on 3rd February last the leaders of the apple and pear industry together with growers from the Northern Victoria Fruitgrowers Association met representatives of the Government and discussed this matter. There was some cause for worry so far as the northern growers were concerned but the Government has given an assurance on this point. 1 appreciate that the honourable senator is expressing his concern on behalf of the Northern Victoria Fruitgrowers Association.
