Senator Douglas McClelland (NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister representing the Minister for Primary Industry, upon notice:

(1)   How many Commonwealth meal inspector trainees have enrolled to date for the 12-week course being conducted by the William Angliss Food Trades School, as announced by the Minister on 14th January 1971.

(2)   How many applications have been received from qualified meat inspectors for appointment to the Commonwealth's inspection service since advertisements for such applicants were recently published.
