Senator KEEFFE - I address a question to the Leader of the Government. As celebrations will be held throughout Australia next year to mark the bi-centenary of the landing of Captain Cook, will the Minister request the Government to make a special grant available to Queensland to construct an all-weather road between Cairns and Cooktown, the locality where Captain Cook spent more time than in any other part of Australia? If such a grant can be made, will the Minister cause an immediate announcement to be made so that the people of Cooktown may use the construction of the new road as a focal point in their celebrations?
