Senator BARNES (Victoria) (VicePresident of the Executive Council) . - In reply to Senator Johnston, let me say that the papers relating to the wheat guarantee of 4s. a bushel have been laid upon the table of the House ofRepresentatives; but the correspondence relating to the proposed advance of 3s. a bushel is the property of the Commonwealth Bank, and this Government has no control of it. The Government is endeavouring to ascertain the views of the bank with respect to making that correspondence public, but whether that will be done depends entirely upon the bank and not upon the Government. I regret that I cannot give the honorable senator any information other than that.
