Senator BARNES
- The answers te the honorable senator's questions are as follow : -
1. Mr. Needhamis still employed for the purpose of rendering assistance in the collection by the State Government migration authorities of moneys owing by migrants in Western Australia in respect of loans for passage money, &c.
2. Mr.Needham's employment commenced on 1st July, 1930, and the duration of same will depend largely upon the progress made by the State migration authorities in dealing with the oustanding amounts. His salary is £8 per week.
3. The moneys due are collected by the State migration authorities of Western Australia on behalf of the British and Commonwealth Governments. Mr. Needham's duty is to assist the State authorities in the direction desired by them in this connexion.
