Senator RAE (NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Leader of the Government in the Senate, upon notice - 1: Has his attention been called to the existence of a new primary industry being developed in -Australia by a company known as "Shark Fisheries Limited"?

2.   Is it a fact that fish-meal, oils of various kinds, valuable fertilizers and other products, for which there is a large and profitable market, are being produced by this company from what was formerly waste material?

3.   Is it also a fact that this company has added to the safety of the public by capturing over 1,000 sharks during the present year, between Newcastle and Wollongong?

4.   Is the Government prepared to render any assistance in the further development of this enterprise?
