Senator McLACHLAN (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Leader of the Government in the Senate, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that the munitions factory at Maribyrnong is manufacturing motor body parts ?

2.   If so,has the Government considered the effect of such action on the motor body building works in South Australia and Victoria?

3.   Is it a fact that the motor body works in South Australia are working with greatly reduced staffs, although equipped in the most up-to-date manner?

4.   Are the manufacturing operations (if any ) at Maribyrnong being conducted at a loss to the Government?
