Senator CHAPMAN - With the ob ject of obtaining information, I desire to ask the Minister representing the Minister for Markets and Transport -

1.   Is the Government aware that at a large meeting of the South Australian Wheatgrowers Protection Association a resolution was passed urging the Federal Government to use every available means at their disposal to secure for growers at least 3s. 4d. a bushel net for. wheat, and suggesting that a home price, obtained byaflour tax, and an open market for exchange are the most practicable methods for achieving the desired objective?

2.   Is the Government aware that that meeting stressed the opinion that, failing' the desired assistance, many farmers will be forced off their holdings, and the next year's acreage will perforce be reduced by at least 50 per cent?
