The PRESIDENT (Senator the Hon W Kingsmill (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - The honorable senator must not anticipate debate on that subject.


Senator DOOLEY - This Government is confronted with one of the hardest propositions any government has had to face, and if honorable senators opposite cannot make helpful suggestions they should remain silent. They know that the Government is doing all in its power to overcome the difficulties of the situation. They have not said that they are opposed to the measure, but while professing to support it, have ridiculed the Government for introducing it.
