Senator CLEMONS
- The answers are : -
1. Within that of the Administrator subject to the Minister.
2. The Minister is aware that the Director of Lands, not the Director of Works, obtained leave of absence without pay on the occasion referred to, and was absent from duty for three days.
3. No inquiry was necessary, as all the facts were known.
4. As a consequence of his action in this matter the Director of Lands -
(a) Has not been commended ;
(i) Was told that his action in applying for leave at that juncture was embarrassing;
(c) Has been neither promoted nor dismissed.
