Senator MAUGHAN
asked the Minister of Defence, upon, notice -
1. Upon whose recommendation was the tender for 3,500 tons of coal for use of H.M. Australian ships Australia and Sydney (tenders for which closed on 13th August) limited to Australian southern collieries?
2. Will the Minister lay on the table a list of approved collieries from which coal for the Navy is now supplied?
3. Why are the Queensland collieries debarred from tendering for Naval coal supplies?
