Senator RAE asked the Minister repre senting the Minister of Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Is it the intention of the Government to take steps to commence the construction of the North and South Transcontinental Railroad at an early date?

2.   If so, will they cause exhaustive inquiries to be made by expert advisers as to the suitability of the Brennan Mono-rail system for the proposed line, and supply members with all the information available without unnecessary delay?
