Senator LYNCH (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister representing the Postmaster-General, upon notice -

1.   Whether the Fremantle wireless station is powerful enough during the whole twenty-four hours, and under all weather conditions, to exchange communications with shipping on the north-west coast of Western Australia, extending as far as Port Darwin and as far south and south-east as Eucla?

2.   Whether, if the station is not so powerful, the Government have in mind the necessity for immediately erecting stations on those portions of the coast-line to insure communication being maintained with the land stations?
