Senator NEEDHAM
asked the VicePresident of the Executive Council, upon notice -
1. Have any of the higher-paid officers of the Commonwealth Public Service been recommended for increases on the current year's Estimates?
2. If so, how many?
3. If any of the higher-paid officers are to receive increases, what is their present grade and division?
4. Have any of the lower-paid employes in the Commonwealth Public Service been recommended for an increase on the current year's Estimates?
5. If so, how many?
6. If any of the lower-paid employes in the Commonwealth Public Service are to receive increases, what is their grade, and in what division are they employed?
7. Has the Government been recently approached by a section of the lower-paid officers of the Service asking for an increase of salary?
8. Were they advised to go to the Arbitration Court?
9. Is the Government going to enforce the provisions of the Arbitration (Public Service) Act?
10. If so, will they see that the Act applies to the higher-paid employes as well as to the lower-paid employes of the Service ?
