Senator McGREGOR (South Australia) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) . - I would point out to Senator Guthrie that wire doors have been omitted from the item to which he refers. The duty of 3s. 6d. per door in the case of the higher priced doors will not afford them as much protection as they originally enjoyed, but the lower priced articles will be much more highly protected - the difference representing about 50 per cent. The manufacturers have always contended that hitherto it has been easy to import low priced doors which could readily be made in the Commonwealth.
