Senator CLEMONS - I desire to ask the Minister of Defence, without notice, if he would consider it unfair, or even unkind, if I were to request him, as Minister of Defence, and because he is Minister of Defence, to lay on the tables of both Houses all papers in connexion with the celebrated and notorious case known as the" "Surrender of Captain Crouch." An effort has been made elsewhere to obtain these papers without success, but I recognise that the Minister of Defence, being a member of the Senate, it is peculiarly appropriate that he should be asked in the Senate to lay these papers on the table.
