Senator DOBSON (TASMANIA) asked the Minister of Defence, upon notice -

1.   Has the Prime Minister communicated with the company established in England for the purpose of encouraging cotton-growing within the Empire, with reference to such company assisting to develop the growing of cotton in the tropical portions of Australia; and if not -

2.   Will the Minister consult with the Prime

Minister as to the desirability of offering the company such facilities as to land and otherwise as may be thought just, in consideration of the company spending a certain amount of capital in developing cotton-growing in the Commonwealth ?
