Senator CROFT (Western Australia) . - For the same reason as Senator Walker has given, I propose to support the second reading of the Bill. I have seen several voting machines at work, and, so far as I am able to judge, I think that one of them is quite, perfect. I should like to see the Bill passed, in order to encourage inventors to give to the people a machine which would effectually do away with the mistakes which are so frequently made at elections, and so avoid the heavy cost which is incurred by the Commonwealth on such occasions.
