Senator STYLES (Victoria) .- I shall support the motion. I wish to take this opportunity to remark that during my speech on the Address-in-Reply I made some reference to the appointment of the Lieutenant-Governor of Papua. I was not aware when I referred to ex-military officers that at present an ex-military officer is administering the Dependency. I have since been asked what dislike I had to Captain Barton. I wish to say that I intended to make no reference to Captain Barton. I was not aware that he was there. In fact, I never heard of him before making my allusion to the subject. Certainly, I did not make it with Captain Barton in my mind.
