Senator Playford - The honorable senator is like one company crying in the wilderness.

Senator PULSFORD - I believe it is a wilderness. But I do not hesitate to saythat the time will come when honorable senators will regret this night's work. When the people of Australia fully recognise what is behind all this, honorable senators will have occasion to regret it, and none more than the members of the Government who have engineered this very unworthy scheme. There is no doubt that the arrangement arrived at last night was considered by both sides as being final.

Senator Keating - That statement is absolutely incorrect.

Senator PULSFORD - It has been departed from to-day, as the result of a scheme which has not been worthy of the Senate or of the Government.
