Senator PLAYFORD (South AustraliaMinister of Defence) - I ask the honorable senator not to press the amendment, because there is no necessity for it. No Minister of the Crown in the Commonwealth would ever think of permitting coloured labourers to come into Australia under contract in any circumstances. The intention of our legislation is to exclude them, and they will be excluded under the Bill which we have already passed. There is no necessity for the provision which the honorable senator proposes to insert in this Bill.
