Senator PULSFORD (New South Wales) - I hope the Minister will agree to postpone the consideration of this amendment, and also the consideration of certain of the amendments made in clause 3.

Senator Keating - I have no objection to postponing certain of the amendments in clause 3, but not the consideration of the amendment made in clause 2.

Senator PULSFORD - Will the Minister consent to a recommittal of clause 2 if that be desired ?

Senator Keating - No; I think the amendment in clause 2 ought to be accepted.

Senator PULSFORD - It is quite clear that the period of four months has been inserted for strong reasons, and it might be the opinion of the Senate that the period should be extended to six months. I move -

That the consideration of the amendment be postponed.
