Senator PLAYFORD (South Australia) (Minister of Defence) . - It must not be understood that in agreeing to this motion I concur in the statements which Senator Pulsford makes therein, about dispensing with the Merrie England steamer, and soon. These will have to be inquired into.

Senator Pulsford - That is understood.

Senator PLAYFORD - We shall make all the necessary inquiries into the matter, and if we can save money we shall be only too pleased to do so.
