Senator PULSFORD (New South Wales) - I think that, with a slight alteration, the Government will see their way to accept my motion relative to the establishment of telegraphic communication with New Guinea. I think that if the motion is altered in the direction of asking the Government to consider " the desirability of establishing, telegraphic communication," it will be accepted at once.

Senator Playford - I think so, because it will only ask the Government to make the necessarv inquiries.

Senator PULSFORD - I ask leave, sir, to make the necessary alteration in my. motion.
