Debate resumed 'from 30th November (vide page 6065) on Standing Orders Committee's report (vide page 5531), and on motion by Senator Keating -

That the report be now adopted.

Upon which Senator Pearce had moved, by way of amendment -

That the following new standing order be added to the report : - " An instruction canbe given to a Committee of the Whole on a Bill to consider amendments which are not relevant to the subject-matter of the Bill, provided that such amendments shall not deal with an entirely different matter."
