Senator WALKER (NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister representing the Minister of External Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Now that the Papua Bill has become law, will the Government recommend an increase of the annual subsidy by £5,000, as suggested in the recent report furnished by the Secretary for External Affairs?

2.   Will the Government give early consideration to the question of treating British New Guinea as an integral portion of the Commonwealth as regards Tariff arrangements?
