Senator GIVENS (QUEENSLAND) - I ask the Minister of Defence whether it is not a fact within his knowledge, as well as within the knowledge of most other members of the Senate, that the late Government, under the leadership of Mr. Reid, frequently provided cabs at their expense for the convenience of their supporters attending late sittings?

Senator PLAYFORD - I believe so, but if the honorable senator will give notice of the question, I can get the information desired.

Senator Sir JOSIAH SYMON - As Senator Givens has not given notice of his question, in accordance with the suggestion of the Minister of Defence, I ask the Minister to obtain the information. I know something of what was done by the late Government, and I never heard of what Senator Givens has suggested.
