Senator Lt Colonel Sir ALBERT GOULD (NEW SOUTH WALES) -Col. GOULD.- I desire to ask the Minister of Defence, without notice, whether it is intended to ask! the Senate to sit on Tuesday next ? It is pretty well known that the first Tuesday in November is regarded as almost a national holiday in Victoria.

Senator Lt Colonel Sir ALBERT GOULD (NEW SOUTH WALES) -Col. GOULD.- It is regarded as almost a national holiday in Australia. While I have no doubt that honorable senators will be perfectly willing to sit on Tuesday if that be necessary, still there are a large number of persons who, if the Senate did meet, would have to work when they have been in the habit of having a holiday.
