Senator PULSFORD (NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister representing the Minister of Trade and Customs, upon notice -

1.   What was the aggregate of the money payments made during the last financial year as rewards for information in connexion with breaches of Customs and Excise Regulations or evasions of duty?

2.   Was any of such money, and, if so, how much, paid to officers in the employ of the Customs ?

3.   Is information available to the public in regard to any such payment or payments?

4.   If suchinformation is not generally available for the public, can it be supplied to the Senate when required?
