Mr WEST (Cunningham) - I move:

That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent the honourable Member for Cunningham (Mr West) moving - That the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs be required, pursuant to paragraph 1 (b) (i) of its terms of reference, to urgently report to the House on what Federal action is required to terminate rising racial tension and confrontation in Western Australia which is resulting from the determination of the Court State Government to enforce oil drilling on Aboriginal sacred sites at Noonkanbah.

I move this suspension-

Motion (by Mr Sinclair) proposed:

That the honourable member be not further heard.

Mr West - This is an outrage.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Millar)Order! The honourable member for Cunningham will resume his seat.

Mr West - Let it be clearly heard that this Government is not interested in the Aboriginals at Noonkanbah.
