Mr Cadman asked the Minister for Finance, upon notice, on 21 April 1980:

(1)   How many officers of his Department are assigned to respond to and prepare evidence for:

(a)   Parliamentary Committees,

(b)   the Commonwealth Ombudsman and

(c)   the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

(2)   What is the total number of staff of his Department based in Canberra.

Mr Eric Robinson (MCPHERSON, QUEENSLAND) - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1)   No staff of my Department are assigned on a full-time basis to respond to and prepare evidence for Parliamentary Committees, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Such duties when required would be undertaken by staff handling the relevant subject matter.

(2)   As at 13 June 1980, 1368 (including staff at the Royal Australian Mint, the Australian Government Retirement Benefits Office and the Office of the Superannuation Fund Investment Trust).

Suggest corrections
