Debate resumed from 22 November 1979, on the following paper presented by Mr Anthony:

Public Duty and Private Interest- Report of Committee of Inquiry- Ministerial Statement, 22 November 1979. and on motion by Mr John McLeay:

That the House take note of the paper.

Upon which Mr Lionel Bowen had moved by way of amendment:

That all words after 'That' be omitted with a view to substituting the following words: 'the Government be condemned for not making it obligatory for all Members of Parliament to disclose their pecuniary interest and that of thenimmediate families in a register available to the public'.
