Mr Hayden asked the Minister for National Development, upon notice, on 6 March 1979:

(   1 ) What was the actual level of crude oil production from each Gippsland Basin oil field to which State and Commonwealth royalties applied during (a) 1975-76, (b) 1976-77 and (c) 1977-78, and what is the anticipated level in (d) 1978-79, (e) 1979-80 and (f) 1980-81.

(2)   What was the rate of State and Commonwealth royalties which applied to crude oil produced from each field.

(3)   What was the revenue to the (a) State and (b) Commonwealth as a result of royalties on oil produced from each field.

(   1 ) For published figures see Table 1 1 in 'The Petroleum and Gas Industries in Victoria Statistical Review No. 1 1 1977'. Forecasts of production are not available for publication.

(2)   See Table 38 in 'The Petroleum and Gas Industries in Victoria Statistical Review No. 11 1977'.

(3)   Royalty payments on a field basis are not published. However total annual royalty payments to the Commonwealth and Victoria in respect of Bass Strait fields are included in the relevant Budget papers.
