Mr Collard (KALGOORLIE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister for Civil Aviation, upon notice:

(1)   Has a site been chosen for the new Kalgoorlie Aerodrome; if so, where is it to be situated in relation to direction and distance from the Kalgoorlie Post Office.

(2)   When is it expected that construction will be commenced and when will the aerodrome become operative.

Sir Reginald Swartz - The Minister for Civil Aviation has provided the following answer to the honourable member's question:

(1)   and (2) A site has been recommended. It ls believed to be operationally acceptable and has the support of the Kalgoorlie and Boulder Councils. Planning of the new airport, for Government consideration, is proceeding in co-ordination with the Council's town planning consultants. The timing of this project will be influenced by public demand for air services, the expected need to further expand Kalgoorlie's city limits and aerodrome local ownership negotiations with Kalgoorlie and Boulder Councils.

Dr Forbes - An amendment is necessary to the table shown in part (4) of the answer to question No. 4165 (Dr Klugman) provided by the Minister for Health on 7th March 1972 (Hansard, pp. 657-8).

The number of inpatients accommodated in public mental health institutions in South Australia at 30th June 1971 was 1,925, not 5,917 as shown in the table. Consequentially, the total number of inpatients at the listed dates was 25,323, not 29,315.
