Mr Kennedy asked the Minister for Labour and National Service, upon notice:

(1)   How many applications were made in (a) each State and Territory and (b) the Commonwealth by 10th May 1972 for retraining under the rural reconstruction scheme.

(2)   What numbers and percentages of the processed applications were (a) accepted and (b) rejected in (i) each State and Territory and (ii) the Commonwealth.

The figures given are as at 30th April. Statistics are normally compiled only at monthly intervals.

Applications received but not processed comprise in the main, applications withdrawn or applications not processed pending further advice from the applicant
