Mr ERWIN (BALLAARAT, VICTORIA) - I wish to ask the Minister for Defence a question. Further to a question previously asked by the honourable member for La Trobe I wish to ask the

Minister: Can he inform the House whether any decision has yet been reached concerning pay for senior officers of the Citizen Military Forces?

Mr Malcolm Fraser (WANNON, VICTORIA) - I am glad to be able to tell the House that a decision has been made on this matter. The new rates of pay for senior officers of the Citizen Military Forces will be backdated to 1st July 1969. The increases vary from $500 to about $2,000 a year. Of course, pay for the Citizen Military Forces is tax free.
