Mr KIRWAN (Forrest) - 1 wish to make a personal explanation.

Mr SPEAKER -Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr KIRWAN - Yes, maliciously and intentionally yesterday.

Mr SPEAKER - Does the misrepresentation appear in the Hansard which you have?

Mr KIRWAN - Yes. I have taken the first opportunity to raise this matter after checking Hansard. Yesterday, as will be seen on page 2560 of Hansard, the honourable member for Boothby (Mr McLeay) represented me as saying that conscripts are in some way criminals. I did not say that. 1 said that the conscription policy had made criminals of people who would otherwise have had unblemished records. I was obviously referring to people who had gone to gaol because they would not conform with that policy.
