The third meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Aboriginal Benefits Trust Fund was held on 6th February 1970. While the Administration has yet to send the Department the recommendations made at this meeting, it has asked that one case in particular be recommended to you at this stage.

2.   The applicant is Mr Gus Williams of Hermannsburg Mission. He applied for a loan of $4,750 to buy a 4-wheel drive vehicle to enable him to extend his existing tourist bus service (Hermannsburg-Palm Valley) to more distant tourist attractions in the area. Mr Williams has now had the offer of a suitable vehicle and has to make an early decision whether to buy it or not.

3.   The Advisory Committee recommended at its meeting that you approve a loan to Mr Williams of $4,750 at 3 per cent interest per annum repayable in monthly instalments over a period of 6 years, secured by way of a Bill of Sale over the vehicle with the vehicle to be fully insured and the policy endorsed in favour of the Commonwealth.
