Mr PEARSALL (FRANKLIN, TASMANIA) - Is the Treasurer aware of the critical situation facing the fruit industry as a result of the depressed market returns in the United Kingdom for Tasmanian apples and pears? Should this calamitous market trend continue, will the right honourable gentleman sympathetically reconsider the position, should the industry as a whole present a case for assistance from the Commonwealth Government?
