Dr MACKAY (EVANS, NEW SOUTH WALES) - ls the Minister for Social Services aware that widely differing and arbitrary policies of municipal bodies in collecting rates from pensioners imposes inequitable burdens on various groups of home owning pensioners, often within the same local area? Is he further aware that as age increases many of these persons become physically and mentally incapable of managing their own affairs or of contemplating sale of or removal from their homes - thereby frequently arriving at a pathetic and helpless state of undercaredfor old age? I ask the Minister whether he will consider the special problems of such home owning pensioners and consider steps whereby their problems can be alleviated.
