Mr Hayden asked the Treasurer, upon notice:

1.   Will he supply total population figures for each Federal electoral division based on the 1966 census in similar form to information supplied by the then Minister for the Interior in answer to question No. 692 (Hansard, page 2964, of 12th November 1964)?

2.   For the purpose of evaluating the need for social services, can he state the proportion of the population in each division (a) under the age of eighteen and (b) over the age of sixty?

3.   For the purpose of evaluating the problems of migrants, can he state the proportion of the population in each division born (a) in Australia, (b) in the British Isles and (c) elsewhere?


Mr McMahon - The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

The honourable member asked the same ques-. tion on 18th October 1967 and I supplied him with an answer on 9th November 1967. The answer appears in the Hansard of that date, pages 2858-9.
