Mr McMAHON (LOWE, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Treasurer) - A few days ago J was asked a similar question by an honourable member on the opposite side of the House andI then gave an answer. Subsequently he informed me that he was more interested in whether or not fundamental changes were to be made to the Commonwealth superannuation scheme. With his approval I made an amendment to the Hansard report so as to point out that no fundamental alterations to the scheme were now being considered. We are not considering a noncontributory scheme. Today I also initialled or signed an answer to a question appearing on the notice paper. This answer set's out in far more detail than I am able to give in answer to a question without notice what kind of changes are now being contemplated. I think that the honourable gentleman will be able to get a copy of that answer tomorrow morning.
