Mr BUCHANAN (MCMILLAN, VICTORIA) - I address a question to the Minister representing the Minister for Supply and preface it by saying that I have seen Commonwealth drivers lifting heavy wheelchair patients into standard sedans and have observed that it is a most awkward manoeuvre and beyond the reasonable duty of one man. It places an unnecessary strain on the driver's health, to say nothing of the discomfort to the patient. Will the Minister arrange for discussions between the Minister for Supply, as operator of the transport pool, and the Ministers for Health, Social Services and Repatriation, who are in charge of the client departments concerned, about the provision for this work of a special truck fitted with a hydraulic lift? I understand that in Victoria a vehicle used for State social services work would provide a most suitable pattern.
