Mr McIVOR (GELLIBRAND, VICTORIA) - Is the Minister for the Interior aware that a monument to the Desert Mounted Corps will be unveiled in Canberra on 19th April? Is he aware that representations were made to the Government by the Desert Mounted Corps for the free transport from their respective States to Canberra and return of members desirous of being present at the ceremony? Is it a fact that the cost of this monument was met out of the military pay of personnel of the Corps? If it is true that the cost of this monument was met from the military pay of these men, why was this request refused? Finally, are invitations being sent to surviving members of the Corps to be present at the ceremony?
