Dr Patterson asked the Minister for Territories, upon notice -

1.   How many visits to the Northern Territory have been made by the Minister and the present Secretary of his Department since their respective appointments?

2.   What is the total number of days involved in each case compared with the periods they have held office, respectively?

Mr Barnes (MCPHERSON, QUEENSLAND) (Minister for Territories) - The answer to the honourable member's questions is as follows:

Minister, appointed 18th December 1963 - 18 visits totalling 59 days.

Secretary, appointed 23rd April 1964 - 11 visits totalling 47 days.
