Mr KELLY - As I said in answer to the honourable member for Watson, no definite decision has been made at this stage as to the lengthening of the runway at Mascot. However, in what I think is intelligent anticipation of something of this kind, there has been close consultation between my Department, the Maritime Services Board in New South Wales and the Wallingford Hydraulic Research Laboratory in Britain with two particular problems in mind, firstly, the possible use of the area as a source of sand and also as a port and, secondly, its effect on the erosion problem in the Bay itself.
